Apple's iPad (seen here) will get even smaller as the tech giant is set
to unveil a miniature version on Tuesday. The iPad Mini will hit stores
on Nov. 2, according to blog TechCrunch.
The long-rumored downsized clone of Apple’s iPad tablet is set to hit stores on Nov. 2, according to technology blog TechCruch.
Apple is hosting an event in San Jose on Tuesday, and while the company hasn’t released details, it’s widely expected to unveil a 7-inch tablet that’s being called the iPad Mini.
The mini’s debut, though, could sound a death knell for the iPad 2, with Apple likely to want to streamline its product offerings, Evercore Partners analyst Rob Cihra said in a note to investors this week.
Apple has hinted in invitations that it has “a little more to show you.” The company is expected to have sold about 18 million iPads on average for the quarter that ended last month, according to a survey by Fortune of 61 Wall Street and independent analysts. They also estimated on average that Apple sold about 26 million iPhones during the quarter.
